If you are one of the few people who have never played Angry Birds, then you are in for a treat. This game is awesome and has sold millions of copies around the world. You can play it on your mobile device, or on your PC or laptop. It is fun and addictive, so make sure that you set aside some time to play as you will get carried away trying to kill those pesky pigs who have stolen the eggs, of those scary angry birds. The birds are not scary like those in the Hitchcock film “The Birds” but pretty scary all the same, and they look almost as evil as the pigs.

The joy of playing this game is that you have to be cunning and have a basic knowledge of physics and be logical. The evil pigs hide (who wouldn’t) from the Angry Birds in buildings, or perhaps structures might be a better word, and those Angry Birds have to destroy the structures to kill the pigs. Your job is to catapult the birds into the buildings so that those pesky pigs can be annihilated. The buildings are made of different materials, including ice, wood and stone, and you have to find the best strategy for destroying them and the hiding pigs.

When you succeed in destroying all the pigs and still have one or more birds left or you have destroyed the pigs with your last remaining bird, you get to move up a level, and there are 120 of these. Of course it gets more difficult as you move up through the levels, but you get birds which have different abilities, such as the blue ones that split into several more birds which can be used like grenades. The pigs have helmets and other forms of protection and you have to wear down their defenses. The most indestructible ones wear crowns. The black birds explode, while the white ones that resemble mad doves can drop explosive eggs on the hiding pigs. As the pigs get more difficult to destroy, so the birds retaliate with different abilities of their own.

You get stars and scores and of course you can play against friends and share your scores if you play on a mobile device. You have bonuses for each bird you have in hand when the pigs are all eliminated and if you wish you can go back through any of the unlocked levels you have already played to bump up your score. Be patient though as it can take some time to get through all the levels successfully and this is what makes the game so compulsive; that and the graphics. Those Angry Birds sure look as though they mean business and the pigs look evil too. The game takes the phrase “Kill the pigs!” to a new level, (something to ponder) and how you play will improve as you progress through the levels.
