Crafts making is a fun and educational thing to do with your kids. You can just grab some stuff and recycle it to make art crafts. No matter what age are your kid, art crafts will always be appropriate for them.

Craft Activities for Toddler and Young Kids

For preschoolers from 3 years old and up, painting, sculpting and gluing will be perfect activities. You can prepare something that is simple and easy for them to follow, but remember, kids at this age easily lose their attention.

Straw sculpture
Prepare bendable straws that are colorful to attract the kids, paper clips and card board if needed as a stand
You can cut the straws to the desired length and attach it to one another. Snip a split at one end on another and make your desired shapes. You can use paperclips to create different shapes.

Thumb Painting
Kids love making their hands a bit messy. Prepare a water color, paper and a marker.
They can draw shape and fill it up with the color they desired using their thumb; they can also use the thumb to form shapes like making a picture of a flower.

Card Making
Just grab a piece of colored paper, crayons, or colored pencil. They can draw something that’s on their mind; teach them how to express themselves.

Activities for 5 Years Old and Older

If your Kids are at the age of five or possess some basic skills, there are some advanced crafts for them.

Clay Molding
They would like to use their imagination by molding what’s on their mind. Prepare molding clay all in different colors. Perhaps some buttons or beads can also help. Since the clay is very easy to mold, they can create a human figure, an animal or anything that they want.

Popsicle sticks Construction
Prepare glue, paint and Popsicle sticks.  Kids can make houses out of this sticks as they want and paint them with their desired colors.

Recycle Things
Making crafts does not require expensive materials. You can get something in your house like empty can or bottle, a carton, cotton, extra buttons or beads.
Teach them how to recycle. For example; you can make an angel out of an empty bottle just stick some cotton into its body and cut a wing shape. you can also add it as an ornament to your Christmas tree.

Crafts making has always been fun and easy for kids no matter the occasion. You don’t have to spend a lot just to have fun, sometimes there are a lot of things that you may do inside your house. Crafts making is one way to have quality time with your kids. It’s a great way to combine gift giving and family time. Your child can feel the satisfaction of creating gifts from the heart.
